Dear Władysław,

Thank you very much for picking up and giving me the money. I didn’t thank you immediately after receiving it, because I’ve been ill for nine and bedridden for several days. It started with a throat inflammation and fever, then I started running a temperature every day, not high, but very tiring. Rotten weather, so I’m not going out, but that doesn’t help much. Probably I should still stay in bed, but I don’t have the patience for that; at any rate, it’s a terrible waste of time. I wanted to finish the final theoretical part of the paper on causation before my vacation (I’m still making changes and developing the final paragraph), but in view of this illness, I don’t know if I’ll manage it. I’m already exhausted from this year’s work. Nevertheless, l’ll have to go to Warsaw for a few days (there are meetings on the 28th and 29th); after that, I still have to go to Wrocław, etc. That’s why I get up and write a little every day, but that doesn’t help me recover. I probably need to go to Zakopane for a while for things to change.

I wish you both a pleasant stay in Sobieszów and send cordial greetings to you and best regards to your wife
