Dear Professor!

Thank you very much for both of your letters and the excellent advice.

Well, I° I will slightly change the emphasis in my preface to Analecta to independent work, because I have expressed myself quite unfortunately, even though that was what I had in mind.

2° I asked Landgrebe, Ricoeur, Van Breda and Garvitsch to join the editorial committee.

Of course, more than anyone, Professor should honor this committee with your own membership! So I strongly insist you join it.

  v        It would be my honest pleasure to publish the article on essence in Husserl’s thought in the third volume and please send it to me as soon as it is ready.

  v        It would be wonderful if you decided to come here for the congress of German studies. Please, please stay with us for a while in the countryside (or in Washington), whichever you like.
