Letter from Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz written 04.05.1937
4.V 1937
Honoured and Dear Professor:
I am worried that my letter has put you off. Please forgive the aggressive tone. This is not impertinence and disrespect – on the contrary. I have sent Twardowski the reply to Metallmann, saying that the summary (of the hauptwerk) done by M[etallmann] is perfect and I doubt whether I will do a better job, so that he should consider it recognized as such by me, and publish the polemic by way of “completion” of the summary fully endorsed (signed) by me. An original idea. If I do not do the summary right away. Having finished the correspondence, I returned to the work on the “ontological substrate”. I enclose words of deep respect and affection, and gratitude to both of you. F.G. [family greetings]
n n n Vitcatius.
P.S. Do not you see Ajdukiewicz at all? I have the impression that Chwistek has told him things against me.
