Postcard from Władysław Tatarkiewicz written 11.09.1949

Dear esteemed colleague.

On Saturday 3/IX, the eve of my departure, I received your ‘author’s summary’, for which I thank you very much. Of course, I had to edit it, because the style is completely different and this section would deviate too much from the rest; but I retained the substance. Only the list of contents of The Controversy failed to match; in no case did I insert anything similar, preferring to add ‒ in one sentence, if possible ‒ the solution you suggest.

From Cracow – in accordance with the itinerary – I proceeded to Krynica, where it’s sunny and rather pleasant. I should return between the 22nd and 24th of this month. I’ll be at the meeting of the Commission on the 30th of this month; I think it would be well to send out the invitations before my return (academic mtgs. with Młynarski’s lecture and administrative with elections!). Immediately afterwards I’ll have to go to Warsaw, because that will already be the beginning of classes. I attach a handshake
