Postcard from Anna Teresa Tymieniecka written n/d 4
Dear Professor and Madam!
Warmest greetings from all of us. We are waiting around for more snow for skiing at our farm in Vermont. The whole family goes crazy on skis, when the weather allows. We might be going to Poland with Henk in September for a congress of econometrists, or something of the sort. Aside from that we are also putting all our efforts and enthusiasm into our work. The book on creativity is a terrible torment: it is not enough to simply have ideas, you have to document them with literature – and literature in such a field is endless. And new works are created all the time, in cosmology, etc. I just had a lecture on existence. Professor would get scared of my ideas! When I publish this new essay I will make sure to send it to you. Have you received the three minor essays that I sent?
When will we see you, dear ones, here or in Europe? The children are growing up and not growing much smarter, but I have great help, so not much trouble there – I can use most of my time for work. The problems with upbringing, in turn, are numerous. How do you maintain “tri-lingualism” when there is more and more work at school? For now, it is going well, but when they go to boarding school I don’t know what I will do.
Merry Christmas
AND A
Happy New Year
Best wishes
