Paris, 16/12/27

Most Honourable Professor!

I left Marburg after a considerable (nearly two-week) delay, because it took 14 days to send the money from Warsaw to Marburg. I received the money 13/12 and left immediately, stopping for only a few hours in Frankfurt, where I saw Dr Walther again. Here, I’m staying at a hotel (500 francs per month). My address is: Paris XIV Place Denfert-Rochereau, Hotel Floridor. Blaustein told me once that Melberg[O1]  was going to Paris. I’d be happy to look him up here; if you know his address, I’d be grateful if you’d give it to me! And do you know where Blaustein is now? ‒ In Marburg I became acquainted with eideticism; I witnessed some experiments in this field and read two papers that haven’t been published yet. Prof. Jaensch was very kind to me. He asked me to send you his regards and expressions of esteem. ‒ My wife informed me that she couldn’t take the position, because it required 5 hours of work daily from her (which actually surpasses her strength) for 160 zlotys. I accept her decision, because I don’t know why she’s supposed to work at half the wages of other school doctors. Once again, I’d like to thank you for your gracious intervention in this matter[O2]

I enclose expressions of profound esteem
