I enclose a document from the Ministry of Religious Denominations and Public Education granting me an allowance for a stay abroad for academic purposes during the months of February and March, and politely request an extension of my leave. Since, following my return to Lviv, I’ll have to finish the work that I’m currently writing and prepare it for printing, and because this would be impossible for me while giving lessons at school, I’m politely asking the Board of the Lviv School District to graciously extend my leave through the entire second semester of the current school year. This is also very important for me because I’d be able, during these few months, to organise the materials that I’m collecting here. Otherwise, the results of my study trip would be in great measure lost, since it’s impossible for me to find time and strength for my own academic work along with work in school and lectures at the university. Given the significant costs incurred by the Polish State in sending me to study abroad, I hope the Board will graciously accede to my fervent request.
I’ll point out that I’m submitting this application only now because it was only yesterday that I received (even though it was dated 15/11 of this year) the letter from the Ministry of Religious Denominations and Public Education, and without attaching this letter, I was unable to turn to the Board of the Lviv School District with my request to extend the leave.
