v I politely request your attendance at the general assembly of the Polish Semiotics Society on 29 January (Monday) 1968 at 10:30 a.m. The assembly will take place in the Round Table Hall in the Staszic Palace, Warsaw, ul. Nowy Świat 72.
v The agenda for the meeting provides for an administrative part and an academic part. The following issues are on the agenda for the administrative part:
1. Report on the work of the Interim Board
2. Elections of the Main Board
3. Formal resolutions regarding the Society’s continued functioning
c (membership fees, dates of meetings, organisation of Poland’s participation in
c the international semiotic bibliography, etc.)
The academic part:
1. A paper by Dr J. Chmielewski entitled ‘Chinese language and logic’
2. Discussion
c The Provisional Board of the Society, having no budget, is unable to reimburse the travel costs of non-local participants in the meeting. In this matter, please consult the Bursaries of the Universities or Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences with which you are associated. If a hotel is needed, we ask that you send your order no later than 8 January 1968 to the following address: Prof. Dr M. R. c At the same time, I wish to hereby inform you that the Laboratory of Social Anthropology at the Collège de France in Paris is organising a library of offprints in the field of general semiotics, linguistics, written and oral literature, mythology, film, the language of gestures, semantics applied to psychology, sociology, economics, etc., language theory, scientific languages, zoosemiotics, etc.
