            Dear Roman!

            Thank you very much for your letter of the 27th of this month, and I’m glad that your trip to Toruń is taking shape. Ms Mikułowska has chosen Sunday 13 April as the date of the lecture for the art historians; she already has a hall reserved in the international press and book club (a nice little hall, and it has a good audience) at 12 noon. Accordingly, I’m suggesting Monday 14 April, at 6 p.m., for the lecture at the Philosophical Soc. (Saturday won’t work, because it’s the day of the symphonic concert, which is attended by a great many people) on the subject you cited: ‘The problem of aesthetic evaluation’.

            I suggest, moreover, that you come to our place on Saturday; we’ll be very happy to host you, and you won’t have to speak on Sunday after a night on the train; I also advise not getting out of the sleeping car in Inowrocław, but in Bydgoszcz; you don’t have to pull yourself out so early and there’s a better connection to Toruń. Departure from Bydgoszcz is at 6.12 and you arrive by the same train at Toruń (City) at 7.13. You need to order a sleeping berth on the way back ahead of time via Orbis, so write to me which train you want to return on (if overnight Monday/Tuesday, again there’s a convenient connection via Bydgoszcz. The costs of the trip will be covered half and half by the Phil. Soc. and Assoc. Art Hist.).

            So we’ll see each other soon, and in the meantime, best wishes for both of you and the whole family

Elzenberg is still in the hospital with his leg in traction. He’s holding up well. We visit him whenever possible.
