Prof. R. Ingarden                                                                                           Krakow, dn. 11/6/1951

To
v   The Office of the Editorial Committee of the LCP
v   at the State Publishing Institute
v   Warsaw, Nowy Świat St. 35.

I am sending the data necessary for Mr. Jerzy Gałecki’s contract:
Work: Johann Gottfried Herder, Ideen zur Philosophie der Geschichte der Menschleit, Riga 1784 // 91 Hartknoch.
Volume: about 45.4 author’s sheets à 40,000 characters
Deadline: the end of November 1953 / approximately six sheets per quarter, except November and December 1951, which would be time provided to the translator for theoretical preparation. However, the translator would start work immediately upon the conclusion of the contract.
Payment method: currently adopted / initial advance, then installments upon the submission of consecutive parts.
Remuneration: I suggest, if possible, PLN 700 per author’s sheet.
Translator’s address: Jerzy Gałecki, PhD, Siemiradzkiego St. 29, Krakow.
The translator would like to ask the SPI to issue him with two certificates, the contents of which /suggested by the translator/ I attach herewith.
I would be very grateful if you could settle this matter quickly. The translator borrowed the aforementioned work from the Jagiellonian Library and, after paying a fee, managed to get the library to lend it to him for four weeks. Could the Editorial Committee ask the Jagiellonian Library to let him keep the book longer?
