Letter to Kazimierz Ajdukiewicz written 2/25/1953

Dear Kazimierz.

               Thank you very much for the nice letter, and I apologise for writing back only today. This happened, first, due to being short on time (during this period I left Cracow on two occasions); second, because, in regard to the chief matter you wrote about, I really don’t know how to reach a decision.

                First, though, I’d like to emphasise that I’m very happy that this rumour someone passed on to me in Warsaw about your alleged extra-university functions has turned out to be false. In any case, your daughter has already corrected me on this, but I haven’t had the opportunity yet to tell you so. I’m sorry to have asked you about it.

                As for my potential article for Studia Logica, first of all I thank you very much for turning to me personally in this matter, and I also thank you for the proposal itself. In principle, I would of course be happy to publish one of my things in Studia Logica, but rebus sic stantibus I don’t see any possibility of carrying out this proposal. Just what you write about the list of participants of the last conference of logicians in Warsaw last December is sufficient to render this possibility doubtful. In any case, maybe we can talk more about it when we meet, possibly in connection with Library of Classics of Philosophy work.
