Postcard from Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz written 15.06.1939
15.VI 1939
Honoured and Dear Professor:
Thank you very much for the card, which I received on the day of my departure. I was here cut off from the world (to some extent) for 2 days. I thank you infinitely for the intention to translate, but we do not know what your judgment will be about the piece. Encore de quoi [Fr. What’s more], the splendor of my repayment will surpass Sonja Henje’s ballet on the ice. The manuscript is complete – by mistake I submitted the cover from the disassembled copy of the previous piece. Perhaps you might be willing to write here a few words of information whether this explanation has arrived.
I enclose words of my respect and sympathy for both of you and thank you once again. FG
