            Dear Roman!

            Thank you very much for your letter of the 7th of this month, which crossed my letter to you in the post; I’m writing back immediately. I’m happy that I’ll find you in Cracow and I thank you for the invitation to the Philosophical Society; I’ll gladly make use of it. I offer one of two topics for your selection: 1) ‘On the unity of science’ (the article intended for Tatarkiewicz’s Book) or 2) ‘Dual standards’(an article which is to be published in the new ethical journal published by the Polish Academy of Sciences). As I wrote, I’ll arrive on Thursday morning on the 21st of this month, and the lecture can take place on the same day or on Saturday ‒ however, on Saturday, the deliberations of the conference on the history of logic may drag on, thus Thursday is safer. On Sunday morning, I propose holding a meeting of the editorial Committee for Twardowski’s writings.

            As I wrote to you, I’m going to Warsaw on the 16th of this month, since I thought that, as you wouldn’t be able to make an appearance there, one of us should be at that meeting.

            As for the birthday celebration for Tatarkiewicz, I’ve already heard that the atmosphere was very pleasant and that the guest of honour’s speech was beautiful. I regret that I couldn’t be there; I only sent a congratulatory letter.
