D[ear] M[ister] I[ngarden], I would like to thank you for your letter and I am sending a short reply in response to the delivery of your essay. Unfortunately, I cannot report any improvement concerning the health of my husband. He is visibly weaker, and his heart is getting heavier. If you were closer to us, I would suggest you come and visit, but that is probably out of the question.
