The attachments include:
1. Kant’s “Prolegomena” translated by B. Bornstein, edited by J. Suchorzewska.
2. Kant’s Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals translated by M. Wartenberg, reviewed by R. Ingarden.
ad.1. I have reviewed and corrected the text. The changes are mostly of stylistic nature. Basic terminology used by Bornstein will be retained until the unified terminology for Kant’s translations is decided upon. After it has been done, I will review the entire text again and introduce the necessary changes.
I believe that Bornstein’s introduction can be left as it is, except for the commentary on terminology, if that were to change in preparation for printing. Also the footnotes in Bornstein’s and Suchorzewska’s translations can be kept in their current form.
Having reviewed Suchorzewska’s work I believe that she can be paid her due royalties /later date/. In addition, she should be issues accurate instructions for index creation based on the general rules for indexes.
ad 2. In accordance with our agreement, Wartenberg’s translation in its revised form after my corrections. No changes were made to the basic terminology, and the corrections concern only a few places which were not translated faithfully enough and some stylistic matters. Stylistic corrections are generally very abundant, but they mainly concern the word order.
Once the general terminology for the translation of Kant’s works is established, I will review the Wartenberg’s translation once more, however the changes should generally not be too extensive, for the central terms from the Critique of Pure Reason, which may be the ones to change, are relatively rare in the Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals.
In light of my submission of the revised version of the Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, I am asking you to issue a request for payment of my contractual royalties.
